Join the Kiawah Conservancy's digital content specialist Adam Wolf for A Run in Nature. Enjoy a scenic group run through The Preserve neighborhood on the eastern side of Kiawah Island. The run will start from the gravel parking lot located on Grey Widgeon Lane and will continue at a leisurely pace along the established nature trails. Along the way, participants will enjoy scenic vistas and opportunities for wildlife viewing.
After completing the trail portion, the run will continue through other picturesque areas of the neighborhood, highlighting properties preserved by the Conservancy. Adam will point out areas of interest and help identify local wildlife and plant species along the route. Keep an eye out for wildlife species such as roseate spoonbills, deer, osprey, and ibis, which are often spotted in this area.
The route covers 5.5 miles and will take about an hour to complete (see map below). For those looking to add more distance, Adam will offer an optional extension at the end of the loop.
Note: The areas covered during this run are not included in the half or full marathon courses, offering visitors and residents a unique running experience with different sights.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please email Katie Warner (katie@kiawahconservancy.org) with any questions.
